Broadcaster Fiona Phillips picks her dream viewing…

-

The Woman In White was the last drama I got into. I love Jessie Buckley, I think she’s a brilliant actress. My husband and two sons occupy the sofa and I rarely sit down, so I don’t have time to watch much telly! But I did really get into War And Peace and Downton Abbey.

I love Have I Got News For You, but there don’t seem to be many sitcoms on any more. There’s Not Going Out, – I like Lee Mack. I enjoy Would I Lie To You?, but I think some of the lines in Coronation Street are funnier than any sitcom!

It sounds boring, but I love the news – it’s our world and some of the time you don’t want to hear it! I couldn’t imagine not knowing what’s going on. I do the Six O’clock, then I switch over to ITV, then I do the Channel 4 News!

Going to the cinema still feels like an occasion – my husband and I often go early on a Saturday morning, then we’ll make a day of it! The last one I saw was Phantom Thread – I really love Daniel Day-lewis, and it was so sensuous in all sorts of ways – I came out of it not knowing what I thought, if it was sad, if it was weird, but I loved it!

I’d love to be on Corrie – even just as one of those people hanging around the bar! It’s so much more than a programme, it brings back memories of my childhood. So being in Corrie would be like joining a big bunch of friends – although I’m sure that they wouldn’t think so!
