Inside Soap

The next BAD THING!

With Phelan gone, we ponder who’ll inherit his crown to become soap’s next supervillain…

-

LACHLAN WHITE EMMERDALE The warning signs…

The residents of Emmerdale village have long been wary of Lachy – and with good reason. The fella was just a teenager when he assaulted Alicia Metcalfe and was placed on the sex offender register.

Dastardly deeds…

Lachlan has always blamed others for his own issues. His feud with his family – as well as his enemy Robert Sugden – was destined to end badly. He deliberately drove a car into the path of a lorry, killing his mum and grandfather. When Lachy’s pal Gerry found out the truth, he underestimated the danger he was in – and before long, disturbed Lachlan silenced his ‘mate’ for good.

Dark destiny…

It’s clear

that Lachlan will go to any lengths to keep his killer secret – so it’s those closest to him who we fear for most. Inside Soap is betting on a couple more victims before justice catches up with him! Phelan factor: 5

NICO BLAKE HOLLYOAKS The warning signs…

Nico’s mother Sienna has always been a sandwich short of a picnic – and the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree! Mind you, anyone who came about as a result of ‘twincest’ is bound to be a little bit messed up…

Dastardly deeds…

When Nico’s psycho Uncle

Will attempted to kill her, she pushed him to his death in self-defence. She claimed that bumping off her step-sister Carly Bradley was an accident too, after she whacked her to stop her attacking her mum.

Dark destiny…

Smothering her grandad Patrick was no mistake – nor was killing Trevor Royle! Meanwhile, Nico recently returned from the ‘dead’ and tried to murder her mum! Phelan factor: 4

The warning signs…

Just like his ashtray-wielding, woman-clobbering, killer for a dad Steve Owen, pretty boy Hunter has the face of an angel. But hiding behind that slick barnet and baby-blue eyes is a master-manipulator…

Dastardly deeds…

Hunter blamed Phil for causing Steve’s deadly car crash. So in return for being cruelly robbed of his dad, Hunter stole Phil’s daughter’s virginity – and arranged it so that Louise’s dad could watch the pair of them go at it on CCTV.

Dark destiny…

It doesn’t matter that his father buried a woman in Epping Forest and pinned the murder on a boy just a few years older than Hunter. He’ll continue to hero-worship Steve – and no other man will ever be good enough for his mum, Mel. All we’ll say is: Watch your back, Jack Branning…

Phelan factor: 2
