Essex. As a teenager, he won a role in one episode of BBC children’s drama Grange
Hill in 1997, before landing a regular part as Gary Roscoe in Sky One’s Dream Team a few months later. The talented youngster stayed on that show for a little over a year – before getting his next break on Hollyoaks at the age of just 17 in 1999.
2 Gary made his Hollyoaks debut as footballer Luke Morgan on 7 June
1999, less than four years into the show’s life. During his first two-year stint on the soap, Luke was at the centre of a controversial male-rape storyline, which was groundbreaking at the time, and partly aired in a late-night slot. After a brief return in 2002, Gary came back to the role that made him famous last year, admitting that he “feels like being home”.

2014, but the couple first got together a decade earlier. They had two children before tying the knot – eldest daughter India Jasmine was born in 2005 and son Elvis followed in 2011 – and the newly-weds took their kids with them on their honeymoon to a luxurious resort on the island of Cape Verde in Africa. Sadie is the latest addition to their growing family – she was born in September 2015. 4 In the time between his two stints on Hollyoaks,
Gary kept himself busy as Kyle Pascoe in the first three series of ITV’S Footballers Wives. Afterwards,
he spent five years as PC Will Fletcher in The Bill and bisexual Danny Pennant in Eastenders
for a year – where he got on with snogging Lucy Beale while simultaneously flirting with and kissing Johnny Carter!
