Hayley has a baby scare!

SHE FINALLY ADMITS SHE’S PREGNANT – JUST AS HER BABY’S LIFE IS PUT AT RISK…

- Tom Spilsbury

Jean discovers Hayley’s pregnancy secret this week – but can she carry on hiding it from the rest of their relatives, especially when an accident sees her head to hospital?

Hayley is forced to come clean after Jean looks for her on the day of baby Hope’s christening. Discovering Hayley back at No 31, Jean is shocked and confused to find the young woman doubting her own abilities as a mother – and as Hayley pours her alcoholic drink down the kitchen sink, she fesses up that she’s expecting a baby of her own!

“It’s a huge surprise for

Jean, but Hayley realises that she can’t carry on keeping this burden to herself forever,” reasons our Eastenders spy. “Although she’s been taking extreme measures to hide her baby bump, she needs to talk to somebody – and she figures that Jean is the one member of her family who won’t instantly fly off the handle and judge her! Of course, Jean is extremely concerned about Hayley and the welfare of the unborn little’un.

Can she help them both?”

Later, after Hayley and

Kat head off on the moped together, Jean is worried that the pregnant girl is taking unnecessary risks. And she’s absolutely horrified when the pair have an accident and fall off the bike! Although the duo both initially seem unharmed, Hayley has a funny turn, and so Kat and Jean insist that she pay a visit to the hospital to get checked out.

point – the fact that the father is Alfie!” exclaims our mole. “She’s very reluctant to go to A&E with Kat in tow, but knows she has to be checked over. Everything turns out to be fine, but it brings home to Hayley the reality that she can’t keep her secret much longer.”

Growing ever-more concerned about Hayley’s well-being and general state of mind, Jean urges the girl to contact the father of the unborn child. She points out that, whoever he is, he needs to know, and he’ll be able to lend her some support.

“Of course, Alfie already knows about Hayley’s baby, but thinks she’s had a termination,” sighs our exasperated snitch. “Hayley explains to Jean that the father thinks the pregnancy has already been aborted, but Jean reckons he’ll still be willing to help if she comes clean. Hayley is doubtful, so Jean decides to take matters into her own hands…”

Later, Jean spots an opportunity to bring out Hayley’s maternal instincts, and volunteers her to babysit little Hope. However, Hayley is hurt when she realises that Jean is keeping tabs on her using a baby monitor! As the pair lock horns, Hayley breaks down and admits she’s in a total mess over the whole situation, and can’t possibly tell the father.

When the rest of the family returns, they’re impressed with Hayley’s babysitting efforts, but this makes Hayley feel even more of a fraud. Is she in danger of cracking completely?
