Rapist Josh BEATEN TO DEATH?
DAVID AND BILLY PLAY THEIR PART IN HIM BEING ATTACKED…
Evil Josh is left fighting for his life this week – after the truth about his rape of David is revealed by vicar Billy.
Shona enlists good friend Billy to keep an eye on her boyfriend, who has started to act strangely and secretively. She’s deeply worried that her traumatised other half is ramping up a revenge plan against Josh, and wants Billy to stop him doing anything stupid. But when Billy finds out what’s really going on, he inadvertently ends up putting Josh in grave danger.
“Billy always seems to do the wrong thing while trying to do the right thing – he just can’t resist sticking his nose in,” says Daniel Brocklebank, who plays the clergyman. “Billy is following David, and there’s a car chase! David is going after someone in a cab, then Billy screeches up in his car and asks him what’s going on.”
It transpires that David has been watching Josh and has witnessed him befriending an unsuspecting bloke – and he’s desperate to make sure Josh doesn’t rape anyone else. Although Billy understands his reasoning, he’s keen to stop David from getting involved.
“Billy plonks himself in David’s car and tries to reason with him, reminding him he’s got a family, and eventually persuades David to go home,” shares Daniel. “But Billy can’t stay out of it. He’s trying to stop what happened to David happening to someone else, so he speaks to this chap that he thinks Josh is grooming.
His intentions are good, except that he’s basically doing what he’s told David not to do!”
Billy has got Josh beaten up so badly that he’s near death!”
Having warned the man that Josh is a rapist, Billy heads home – but is horrified when the police later knock on his door. They explain that Josh is fighting for his life having been attacked by the guy Billy spoke to…
“Billy feels terrible, as he’s caused this,” explains Daniel. “He’s got Josh beaten up so badly that he’s close to death. Meanwhile, David is furious with him for what he’s done and calls him a hypocrite!”
Heading to the hospital, Billy sits by Josh’s bedside and prays he’ll recover. It’s a grave situation, but Josh isn’t dead yet – so does Billy have any idea about what he’ll do if the Street villain pulls through?
“This could be a chance for Billy to help and rehabilitate Josh,” muses Daniel. “He could find out why he’s done the things he did to David, and stop it from happening again.”
