MOTHER OF ALL SHOCKS!

Liz learns her dead daughter is alive…

- Laura-jayne

Jim and Liz Mcdonald are in for one heck of a reunion, as he delivers the news that their daughter Katie – who she believes to be dead – is actually alive and well!

Long-time Coronation Street viewers may remember heartbreaking scenes from 1992, when the couple were told their baby girl hadn’t survived after being born prematurely. However, reports claim that Jim will arrive back on the cobbles with now 26-year-old Katie, who reveals that she was adopted by Australian parents following a shocking mix-up at Weatherfield General Hospital all those years ago…

“There is a huge buzz surrounding Jim’s return, so the writers were tasked with creating an astonishing story to go with it,” a cobbles source told a tabloid newspaper. “Katie is a beautiful woman who bosses are hoping will be the Street’s new resident fox. Meanwhile, Liz is in for a turbulent time over the next couple of months.” Aussie actress and theatre star Hannah Ellis Ryan will play Katie, who is expected to hit our screens in September. If the rumours are true about Katie’s extraordinary start in life, Corrie stands to rewrite history with one of its most staggering plot twists to date! Meanwhile, ex-con Jim’s return is expected to turn Liz and Steve’s lives upside down, as the trio attempt to navigate their unfinished business.

“We played a story a while ago where it seemed like Steve might have inherited a genetic disease from his dad, but no one went to see Jim in prison to check if he was okay,” explained Corrie’s outgoing producer, Kate Oates, recently. “So

Jim comes back with a lot of resentment because of what Steve did. From his point of view, he was left to rot in prison and no one cared!”

Well, it sounds as if Jim is bringing a lot more home with him than a grudge. Poor Liz! How will she take the news?
