Dean and Willow skim credit cards

Home and Away’s Sarah Roberts fills us in on Willow’s latest moneymaking scheme…

- Sarah Ellis

It’s fair to say Summer Bay’s Willow has made some rotten decisions of late – not least of all getting back together with her River Boy ex, Dean! This week, he causes her more strife when he ropes her into setting up a credit card skimmer in Salt – and as star Sarah Roberts tells us, Willow is in way too deep…

How bad is Willow’s financial situation at the moment?

Willow has lost everything – her job, a place to stay, and she nearly sold her beloved Triumph! She and Dean are currently squatting in Colby’s apartment, unbeknown to him…

How does Willow react when she learns about Dean’s credit card-skimming plan?

She doesn’t think it’s a good idea, as she doesn’t want to steal from the decent people of Summer Bay. But she knows she doesn’t have another choice – she thinks perhaps they could just try it once to get themselves back on track.

How does the scam go?

Well, Willow feels terrible when she sees Irene’s card being skimmed – she doesn’t think Irene deserves to be robbed. Then as Willow and Dean make a run for it from Salt, Dean accidentally knocks over Alf. It’s awful – they never meant to hurt anyone.

What’s it been like for you playing Willow at rock bottom?

It has been challenging for me to play, especially Willow’s gambling addiction – because I haven’t experienced that before. I did a lot of research and spoke to people with addictions, so I could deliver the story to the best of my ability.

Do you think Dean is a bad influence on Willow?

I don’t think Dean and Willow are good for each other! They have a whirlwind relationship, and I think the viewers love their history and their unyielding friendship. But everyone is pretty worried about their future together…
