The Mcqueens arrive in Magaluf this week, ready to party – but there’s more than one shock in store for them as the hen do gets under way.

The whole gang’s excited while they get set to celebrate Mercedes’ impending nuptials. As soon as they’ve touched down on the Spanish island of Majorca, though, Mercedes drops her bombshell: her hubby-to-be is Russ Owen, her first husband who was last seen nine years ago when he fled with his kidnapped son, Max – who he fathered with Mercy’s late sister, Tina!

“Mercedes is buzzing to be back with her family,” shares Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays her. “Although it’s not long until the drama starts, and she soon wants to be as far away from them as possible!”

Needless to say, one person who’s furious about the revelation is Myra – Mercedes’ mum and Max’s gran – who flies off the handle when she claps eyes on Russ again after all this time.

“She’s extremely angry, because he stole Max!” splutters Nicole Barber-lane, who plays Myra. “It’s very bittersweet, because she feels her heart open and break all at once. Max is her daughter’s son, and it brings back all the memories and sadness of Tina, and the fact she hasn’t been able to watch Max grow up.”

Mercedes is desperate to get her mother back on side, but even when she introduces her to her grandson, Myra refuses to be happy for her daughter. Can Mercedes get Myra’s blessing – or will she carry on with the wedding regardless?

“Myra’s her mum,” sighs Jennifer. “Ultimately, Mercedes will do whatever she wants to, but having her mum’s blessing will make it better.”
