Jim gatecrashes Steve’s party
STEVE’S DAD IS OUT OF JAIL – BUT WHY IS HE BACK?
There’s a massive surprise in store for Steve this week, when his friends throw him an impromptu stag do at the Rovers. But once Steve’s over the initial shock, he’s even more dumbfounded when his jailbird dad Jim gatecrashes the party!
As Steve gets ready to remarry his ex-wife Tracy, his pals decide to give him a send-off he’ll never forget. However, even they don’t anticipate quite how the evening will turn out…
“Steve is surprised and delighted by the efforts his mates have gone to – but he soon ends up handcuffed to the bar!” chuckles our Corrie source. “The evening takes a turn for the worse, though, when Steve claps eyes on his father, Jim, marching through the door, as bold as brass! You can imagine how well that goes down with him.”
Jim was last seen four years ago, and has been serving time at Her Majesty’s pleasure ever since. Father and son hardly parted on the best of terms, with Steve turning his back on his dad when it came out that Jim had secretly been supplying alcoholic Peter with booze while he was in prison. So why has Jim returned to visit his son now?
“Whatever the reason, Steve’s not interested,” spits our spy. “Once he’s over the shock, he tells Jim he wants nothing to do with him and storms out of the pub. It’s not just Steve who’s angry, though. Moments later, Peter lunges at Jim, attacking him for all the fella put him through.
Jim tries to fend off
Peter, begging for a chance to explain. But will anyone listen to what Jim has to say? There’s no reason why they should!”
One person does agree to give Jim a fair hearing – and that’s his former wife, Liz. She explains to her ex how Steve and Michelle have split up since Jim last saw them, and brings him up to speed on their son’s rekindled relationship with Tracy.

chances,” sighs our mole. “After all, she married him twice, and has forgiven him more times than that! Once she’s heard Jim out, she agrees to talk to Steve, in an attempt to try to build bridges between the pair.
Will it do any good?”
Accepting that’s the best he can hope for, Jim calls it a night and leaves the pub. But what secret is he hiding?
