ALAN DAVIES AND SANDI TOKSVIG ARE BACK WITH EVEN MORE FASCINATING FACTS…

You might think that having spent 15 years as a regular panellist on

QI, Alan Davies would have an infinite supply of fascinating facts to surprise and delight his friends and family with. Then again, if you’ve ever seen him on the show, you might not think that.

“I don’t really remember anything,” admits Alan. “I’m too busy trying to think of something to say to pay attention. I retain very little, which is proven by the fact that sometimes they put in things which we’ve had in the past, just to catch me out! They’re very gleeful about that.”

The show returns for its 16th series this week, bringing it up to the letter P in its step-by-step tour of the alphabet. But if you’re worried about what will happen when it gets to tricky letters like Q or X, fear not…

“There are ways around these things!” grins presenter Sandi Toksvig. “The glorious thing is that you should see the amount of information that we decide not to include in the show. We are spoilt for choice!”

Among the guests for the first episode of the series are Danny Baker, Phill Jupitus and a QI first-timer, Hollywood star Teri Hatcher.

“Teri was great,” enthuses Sandi. “She brought a different rhythm, which was nice.”

“Johnny Vegas is always surprising, and so is Rhod Gilbert,” adds Alan. “You don’t know what they’re going to come up with!”
