Robert won’t give up on Rebecca
HIS SEARCH FOR REBECCA LEAVES HIS LIFE IN DANGER…
Devastated Robert mounts a search for missing Rebecca this week – only to end up fighting for his life. With the truth about her disappearance out in the open, Rebecca’s loved ones fear the worst and the police confirm they are now looking for a body. However, while the rest of the village residents begin mourning, Robert won’t give up and is certain Rebecca is still alive. So as emotions run high, the furious fella lashes out, leaving Aaron to wonder if his other half is losing it.
“Robert is so angry that it’s frightening,” explains our Emmerdale insider. “Whatever the police might say about Rebecca’s chances of being found alive, Robert just won’t accept it until it’s been proved that she’s been killed. The idea of starting to mourn her before a body has even been found is infuriating to him. Robert isn’t going to stand for any of it, and he doesn’t care who he upsets in the process.”
A shrine to Rebecca’s memory has been set up in the village as people attempt to come to terms with what’s been happening right on their doorstep. When Robert sees it, he goes mad and trashes it – much to the disgust of Zak. He warns Aaron that he needs to rein in Robert and talk some sense into him. But whatever Aaron does, Robert simply won’t give up on finding the mother of his son alive.
The problem is that Robert’s relentless search is leaving him exhausted and in a terrible state. It doesn’t matter what Aaron says,

Things come to a head, though, when Robert starts to get woozy and collapses.
“It’s a terrifying moment,” reveals our sneak. “Aaron and Liv are horrified after Robert falls down, and it gets even scarier when Robert starts to have a fit. Luckily for him, Liv takes control and rings for help, and her quick thinking could be what saves Robert. Meanwhile, Aaron is consumed by panic at what’s unfolding – he could lose the man he loves.”

As the drama unfolds with Robert, Rebecca’s whereabouts are still unknown. Given what they know about what’s gone on since she disappeared, it’s no wonder the police assume it’s unlikely she’s survived. They are now searching for evidence of her murder, whereas Robert is convinced this story could end differently. He knows all too well how awful it is to lose your mother at such a young age, and he’s desperate to stop the same thing from happening to baby Seb. Is Robert right to keep looking, or will the search for Rebecca end in tragedy?
