The new Mr and Mrs Mcdonald?
First up in the drama stakes are Steve and Tracy, as the bride-to-be’s jealousy spirals out of control, leading to violent showdowns with her groom and her pal Abi.
Tracy has no idea that Steve had a one-night stand with Leanne a couple of weeks ago, but she does suspect that he’s betrayed her. Convinced that Steve’s ‘free pass’ woman is Abi, furious Tracy heads over to have it out with her and ends up smashing Michelle’s car. However, she reserves some fury for Steve, whom she slaps and accuses of doing the dirty on her.
“Steve goes missing on the wedding morning, and Tracy starts to think about the ‘free pass’ fiasco again,” explains Kate Ford, who plays her.
“TRACY HAS A MASSIVE MELTDOWN AND A HUGE ROW WITH ABI”
“That’s a small niggle for her – that he actually thought she was giving him free rein to sleep with somebody else. She puts two and two together and makes five, deciding he used this ‘free pass’ on Abi. That leads to a massive meltdown, a huge row with Abi and then she goes to the garage and sabotages Michelle’s car, which Abi’s been working on. She hopes that Abi will get in trouble for it, but she’s not thinking straight.”
It’s not just the worry of Steve being unfaithful that is bothering Tracy – she’s also deeply upset by Ken, Peter and Beth. They’ve all chosen to be elsewhere on her big day – in her dad and best mate’s case, they’ve picked Daniel and Sinead’s wedding over hers. Meanwhile, Peter has legged it to Portsmouth – which is secretly because he discovered Steve is a cheat.
“Tracy’s really hurt,” admits Kate. “Her own brother would rather go to Portsmouth than her wedding, and Ken and Beth aren’t coming either. It’s not a great thing for Daniel to do, to hold his wedding on the same day as hers, and I think on some level he’s enjoying it. There’s a lot of tension between Daniel and Tracy, and some real hatred there. Tracy resents that he’s still the golden child.”
After her furious showdown with Abi, grim-faced Tracy heads over to the venue to have it out with Steve. Viewers know that he’s not sure about this wedding and that he did cheat, but that doesn’t stop the feckless fella trying to wriggle out of it. Steve swears to Tracy that Abi simply gave him dance lessons, and tries to prove it with his smooth moves. Has he managed to salvage the day, and will Tracy become

“She really believes that this is their time,” muses Kate.
“Tracy has always loved Steve, and she’s dreamt of this wedding. But if she finds out he slept with Leanne, she won’t marry him – she’ll be really stung. You’ll have to wait and see if they make it down the aisle. It doesn’t get off to the best of starts when Tracy arrives at the venue determined to have it out with Steve.
He has a lot of talking to do to calm Tracy down!”
