Cassius admits to killing Hamish
HIS SECRET IS FINALLY OUT…
Piper finally learns the truth this week, when Cassius confesses that he killed Hamish! Will Piper stand by him, or is it all over for the murderer?
Following a warning call from his mum, Elissa, terrified Cassius goes on the run, yet Piper is in hot pursuit and wants answers! She finds him hiding out at a motel, agitated and upset. But after a grilling, Cassius reveals all… He was the one who saved Piper from the bush, he’s Tyler’s brother, and he killed Hamish!
“Piper takes control of the situation, unlike in the past with Tyler,” says Mavournee Hazel, who plays her. “That ruined her and she was on the receiving end of all of that, so she confronts Cassius…”
Piper stalls him, making Cassius believe that she wants to flee the country with him. Not wanting to leave her behind, Cassius waits for her, but soon the police arrive and it becomes clear that Piper has betrayed him. Cassius is arrested and taken in for questioning – however, after learning that his mum has been charged as an accessory, Cassius decides to stay quiet and attempt to bargain for her release. Later, heartbroken Piper begs Cassius to do the right thing and, in the end, he makes a full confession.
“Piper has matured since she spiralled after Tyler,” Mavournee tells us. “She goes through not liking Cassius and hating herself for not listening to Bea. Ultimately, she concludes that she doesn’t like what Cassius did, but she doesn’t hate him.”
After Cassius is charged with Hamish’s murder, Piper is left reeling and confused by this shocking turn of events.
“Piper acts very rationally, but it takes her a while to process what has happened – it’s an internal battle,” sighs Mavournee. “One day she wants Cassius to rot in jail, and the next she’s reading him a list of lawyers. She doesn’t really know what she’s doing.”
Afterwards, with the support of her mum, Terese, Piper tries

her best to come to terms with this stunning revelation.
“Piper’s happiness has often depended on someone else, and she’s aware of that,” explains Mavournee. “Her priorities have shifted, romance has been pushed to the side, and her happiness is what she’s trying to finesse.”
