Dean worries about going to prison
Home and Away star Patrick O’connor tells us that Dean’s not ready for prison…
Dean’s life could be about to change forever this week, as he faces the prospect of going back to jail! Star Patrick O’connor reveals how his alter ego feels about the possibility of doing time again…
Hey, Patrick! How worried is Dean about going to prison?
To everyone else in the Bay, Dean may seem pretty relaxed and fine with the idea of going back to jail. However, having been there before, he knows exactly what’s waiting for him, and it’s the last thing that he wants right now.
Why does he call his mum before the trial?
When Dean went to jail the first time around, after the car crash with Colby, it was a horrible experience for him – and his mum didn’t speak to him throughout his time in jail. He wants to let her know that he could be going back. Also she’s the only person at this stage who Dean feels comfortable being honest with. But it doesn’t go well – she hangs up on him.
We have photos of Dean being pushed off the pier – what happens?
He’s being given some tough love by Willow for not acting like an adult on the day of the trial. Those scenes were super-funny to film. We had to get it in one take, because once I was pushed in, I had to dry off and change clothes.
What do viewers think of Dean?
I think they may have a soft spot for Dean – all of his actions come from a place of love and protection for Willow. Although Dean is a smartass with a bit of attitude, he’s still a little boy inside just wanting to find his place in the Bay.
Is he someone you would be mates with in real life?
Maybe. I love Dean as a person, but as a mate I think he might get me into trouble! A few beers down the pub couldn’t hurt, though…
