“I was fully up for the big car chase!”

Ryan Prescott – aka Ryan – lifts the lid on filming this week’s action-packed episodes of

Corrie…

All of this drama has come about because of Ryan’s foolish actions. How does he find himself in these crazy situations?

He might be a lad about town – but Ryan does have good intentions! He tried to stay off the drugs and keep out of trouble, yet Cormac brought out the naughty side of him. He does want to keep his promise to his mum and turn over a new leaf, as he’s still trying to find his place in the family – and Ali threatens that in a way.

How does everything that happens this week affect Ryan and Ali’s relationship?

They’re not brothers or related in any way, but as time goes on they do start to develop this sibling dynamic – there’s rivalry, there’s contempt for each other. Ali is furious that he’s in this situation because of Ryan. He’s being investigated by the hospital and facing suspension. But Ryan has somebody trying to kill him, so he’s like, “Mate, forget about your job, we could lose our lives!”

The crash looks very dramatic! Did you get to do any of your own stunts?

Oh yeah, we were in those cars! It was like cat and mouse, the cars were swerving around all over the place. But I was quite enjoying myself – any excuse to have some fun on location! I used to do a lot of motor cross and skating back in the day, so I was fully up for it. And it looks great, actually.

I’ve seen a sneak peek.

Do you feel settled at Corrie now you’ve been there a few months?

There is a period of time in which you acclimatise, but it’s the people that settle you here. As you start to build relationships with them, you feel more comfortable. People really do want to get to know you, even though they’re busy. It’s all about the banter – it’s a filthy place to work! There are some rude minds here!

What’s the public reaction been like to Ryan?

I haven’t had any bricks thrown at me, which is nice! The public reaction has been very good so far. The people who want a picture really love the show, so you just become an extension of that. You have to remember that it’s not you they want a picture of – it’s the show.

Could you be friends with Ryan in real life?

No – he’s an idiot! I think self-confidence is important, but self-awareness is a little bit more important. Ryan makes silly decisions because he wants to be the centre of attention – that comes from a deeper sense that he wants people to value him.

Will he be forced to grow up?

Well, he might die! He can’t keep running away from himself, he can’t keep drinking and doing drugs, as that hasn’t made him any happier. He has no sense of grounding, and that’s what he’s come back home to find. Deep down, his intentions are pure. He’s smarter than people think!
