Kim decides to leave the village

Hollyoaks’ Daisy Wood-davis tells us why her alter ego is ready to leave the village…

- Sarah Ellis

After four years in Hollyoaks, Kim makes a huge choice this week – she decides to leave for good! Star Daisy Wooddavis, who plays Kim, tells us why the time is right for her to depart…

Hi, Daisy! You’ve already filmed your final scenes at Hollyoaks – how are you feeling about it all?

It’s really weird! It’s been about a month since I left, and it already feels like a long time. I never expected to be there forever, but this is definitely the end of an era.

Why was now the right time for you – and Kim – to move on?

Kim’s had some incredible storylines, and has been brilliantly unhinged! But since her sister Lindsey died, she hasn’t had any family – she’s done really well surviving in the village for as long as she has!

She’s worried that something is going on between Farrah and Grace this week. Why’s that?

Kim sees some messages on Farrah’s phone, and spots them talking. She’s unaware that it’s to do with getting rid of Glenn, she thinks it’s romantic. But once she realises the truth, she’s completely on board.

Does she become a WAG, then?

Yes, she becomes a fully fledged WAG member! It was fun, as it gave me a chance to work with people I hadn’t worked with much before.

We won’t give away how Kim leaves, but Rick Astley does make a special appearance…

That’s so funny! I think it’s up to the audience to decide if it’s real, or if it’s just in Kim’s head. It’s such a funny thing for Kim to take away from the show, people tweet me about his songs all the time!

What’s next for you?

I’m auditioning for some exciting things, and I have a big cooking event that’s happening in Manchester on 16 November. I’ll keep up with Hollyoaks as my boyfriend Luke [Jerdy, aka Jesse] is still in it. I’ll be the show’s number-one fan now! And hopefully I’ll still get invited to all the good parties…
