Kim Tate is exactly the shot in the arm that Emmerdale needs. For years now, it’s all been too gloomy – a constant stream of terrible illnesses and big ‘issue’ stories. But finally it’s time to have some fun again. Every soap needs a super-bitch, and there’s no bitch more super than Kim!

It was all a bit tragic, wasn’t it? Correct me if I’m wrong, but is Eric Pollard the only character in the village who was around when Kim was last in it? All the blank faces when she turned up were hilarious. Totally clueless!

With Kim Tate, I felt like I was the only person not in on the joke, as I’d never heard of her. But I have to see that she soon won me over! There’s a definite feeling that Emmerdale is making all this up as it goes along, though. She had to have some very long conversations with Graham to explain how she’d supposedly been running things all along. A likely story!

I don’t think we’ve had an owner of Home Farm worthy of the place in a very long time – not since Tom King died. So I’m very glad that Kim is back to stir up trouble again. The only question is: why is she bothering? With her money, she could live somewhere far nicer.
