Karen warns Sharon to stay away!
KAREN IS SHOCKED, APPALLED AND DISGUSTED TO SEE SHARON SNOGGING KEANU IN THE VIC’S ALLEYWAY…
The mother of all showdowns kicks off in Walford this week, when livid Karen storms over to the Mitchells’ house and tears into Sharon – after learning that she has been sleeping with Keanu!
While the affair teeters on the verge of exposure, the secret lovers agree not to be seen together in public, especially when Sharon learns that her husband Phil has been in touch with her friends in the Square. However, Sharon and Keanu just can’t keep their hands off each other as they steal a passionate clinch in the alleyway of the Vic – only for horrified Karen to walk past and see them…
“Karen has no clue that Keanu is seeing a married woman – and Sharon is the last person she would expect!” exclaims star Lorraine Stanley, who plays the tough Taylor mum. “When she sees them kissing, it comes as a complete shock to her.”
Karen isn’t the only person who knows about the affair, as the lovers continue to be tormented by a mystery blackmailer. But the extortionist is the least of their worries after Karen confronts her son, and demands to know what he’s playing at.
“Karen thinks it’s disgusting,” explains Lorraine. “Sharon is nearly 50 years old, whereas Keanu is only 19! At the end of the day, she is a married woman. Karen has morals, and she doesn’t think it’s right!
“However, I think Karen is more worried about Phil and what he’ll do to her son if he finds out,” continues the star. “She knows his reputation, and worries for Keanu on that level more than anything.”
With his mum all fired-up and begging him to end his sordid affair, Keanu pleads with her to stay out of it. But quite frankly, there’s more chance of Pat Butcher returning from the dead than that happening – and Karen soon makes a beeline for Sharon to tell her exactly what she thinks!
“Karen doesn’t hold back – she absolutely rinses Sharon,” grimaces Lorraine. “She marches into the house and goes off her nut! It’s not a violent exchange, but Karen makes it clear how she feels, and all Sharon can really do is let Karen say her piece, as she knows that she’s in the wrong. She doesn’t put up much of a fight – though she doesn’t really have the chance!” Scared for her son’s safety, Karen pleads with Sharon to end the fling before the situation spirals out of control completely – and later Sharon comes to a decision. Meanwhile, Keanu is on the hunt for the mystery
blackmailer and, after a conversation with Jay, he sets a trap to expose the culprit’s identity. However, even if he and Sharon do manage to find out who it is who’s been threatening them, will Keanu do as his mother says and stay away from his older woman?
“Every mother thinks her kids are going to listen, but whether they actually do or not is another matter!” chuckles Lorraine. “Maybe he’ll take Karen’s words on board for a day – but this is soap. I’ll be very surprised if Keanu lets this go!”
