Debbie faces five years in jail!

SHE’S FACING A BLEAK FUTURE…

- Kate White

There’s more bad news for Debbie this week, as she’s warned that she could be sentenced to five years in prison. While her daughter Sarah has undergone heart transplant surgery, devastated Debbie has had an agonising wait in police custody – and she can’t believe how much has gone on since Joe asked her to marry him in the hospital chapel just a couple of weeks ago.

Debbie has had to face the consequences of her crimes for being indirectly responsible for the acid attack on Ross. It was Joe’s efforts in paying off Simon the drug dealer that kept her safe for months – but now that he’s disappeared, how can Debbie spend five years inside when her kids need her so badly?

“All Debbie wants is to be free, so she can be by Sarah’s side and try to get her through this latest nightmare,” says our Dales spy. “It hasn’t just been Debbie’s heart broken by Joe going AWOL – Sarah has suffered terribly too. Amid all that shock, Sarah has gone under the knife, and she needs support more than anything.”

Debbie is convinced that

Joe jilted her after lying about his true circumstances. But the real story saw her dad Cain knock him out with a near-fatal punch, before Kim Tate’s henchman Graham finished the job. Joe didn’t want to leave Debbie, and it cost him his life – yet she may never discover any of that while Graham and Cain continue to keep their terrible secret.

The focus now is getting Debbie out of jail, but that’s tricky when she’s given a full confession. However, while the judge at her plea hearing grants her bail, there’s bad news on the way as she’s told the sentence could be harsh.

“Even the world’s most talented brief can’t talk Debbie out of this one,” muses our insider. “She has admitted it

Debbie has taken a huge gamble – this could wreck her life!”

all, and it’s only her word against Simon’s that the acid attack itself was his idea. There’s a criminal conspiracy, months of lies and a permanently scarred victim in the mix. Debbie has taken a huge gamble by coming clean, and it could wreck her life.”

As she leaves the court, Debbie frets – how will she cope if the prospect of a five-year sentence becomes a reality?
