Yes, and the bullying is ongoing – but it’s been interesting showing Brian’s vulnerability. Workplace bullies are a real issue for a lot of people, and there are occasions when you think, ‘Poor lad – if only he’d speak up!’ Brian comes across as a buffoon, so it’s good we’re showing this different side of him.

We’re guessing you’ve already filmed Corrie’s Christmas episodes – do you enjoy getting into the festive spirit early?

We’re done with Christmas and into the new year now! No matter what we’re filming, it’s always the wrong time of year for it. Sometimes it’s summer and you’re in a winter coat, sometimes it’s winter and you’re wearing a summer coat. So I don’t really take it on board when we’re doing a Nativity in October…

Does Brian have a happy Christmas to look forward to?

To be honest, I woke up in a few cold sweats about what happens to him over Christmas! Bullying is a serious issue, but in true Brian style, there’s some slapstick in store – and some stunts! I can only tease what happens by saying that Brian is somewhat hoist by his own petard…
