You’re about to enjoy your very first Emmerdale Christmas – are you looking forward to it?

Yes! It’s been a fantastic year on the show, so seeing the village all set up for Christmas is lovely. We have a Nativity, we have trees – I’m loving it!

What would you get Matty for a Christmas present?

Matty’s favourite movie is Back

To The Future, so I’d get him a Delorean car to go around the village in! Or maybe a hoverboard, like the one [star Michael J Fox’s character] Marty Mcfly has.

Do you have your own Christmas plans sorted?

I’m going back to my home town Leamington Spa, and spending it with my family. As a jobbing actor, it’s so nice to have time off at Christmas – usually I’m an elf, working right through it! So I’m looking forward to watching films and eating chocolate.

Which soap character would you invite for Christmas dinner?

Pat Butcher from

Eastenders would have a few drinks – she’d be a good laugh! But Emmerdale’s

Rodney is never short of a few one-liners, so he’d be fun too!

What would you like Matty to have in store for 2019?

He needs a few wins – he’s lost his girl [Victoria], so it would be great for him to gain a new confidence, a new love interest, and a job that he really wants to do!
