Alfie finds out he has a daugher!
AS HE CRADLES HAYLEY’S BABY, SHE TELLS HIM THAT THEY’RE THE NEWBORN’S PARENTS…
Alfie has the shock of his life this week, as he picks up the newborn Slater baby at No 31, only for Hayley to walk in and reveal that he’s the dad!
The bombshell comes soon after Alfie delivers his own surprise, by turning up on the Slater clan’s doorstep during Hayley’s birthday party. Standing there as bold as brass, the fella tells his wife Kat that he’s sorry for everything he’s put her through, and that he wants to win her back for good. But with Kat currently unaware of her hubby’s infidelity, will she come to regret giving him another chance?
“Awkward!” grimaces our Walford insider. “Up to now, only Hayley herself and Jean have been completely aware of the truth. Although Alfie knew that Hayley was pregnant a while back, he thought she’d had a termination, so he figured he was off the hook. Now he thinks he can start over with Kat, free from any baggage. Well, let’s see how that works out, then!”
THE SECRET IS OUT!
When Jean spots Alfie at the door, she panics that he’ll see the baby and put two and two together – so she tries to shoo him away! Undeterred, Alfie fetches Tommy, Bert and Ernie, while Jean flaps around trying to stop Kat from seeing her boys. Although confused by Jean’s erratic behaviour, Alfie is soon able to have a heart-to-heart with Kat after his wife locks herself in the bathroom. The pair even start to make a few tentative steps to working things out, as Kat is finally reunited with her children…
“Alfie thinks he can start over with Kat, free of baggage!”
But unknown to either of them, Alfie has a daughter downstairs, and it’s only a matter of time before he finds out.
“Jean does her best to stop Alfie from seeing Hayley’s baby, but she’s on a hiding to nothing,” sighs our sneak. “Sure enough, before the day is out, Alfie ends up in the lounge, cradling the tot, oblivious that he’s the little’un’s dad! When Hayley bursts in on the scene, she blurts out that the baby is hers – and even Alfie works out what that must mean! The question is, will he keep quiet, or demand a role in his daughter’s life?”
ALFIE BEGS!
While fixing Alfie with a glare, Hayley demands that Jean put a stop to her birthday party. Of course, Alfie has questions about what’s been going on in his absence – but once Kat butts in on the conversation, he’s forced to keep shtum.
Instead, Alfie causes a distraction, telling Kat that Stacey was the one who called him back to London. And as Kat bickers with her relative about sticking her nose in,
Alfie finally has the opportunity to chat to Hayley alone…
“The trouble is, Hayley is still holding a torch for Alfie,” sobs our mole. “Although she knows that it’s not realistic, she’s still gutted when he tells her that he’s only back on the Square for his wife. Alfie begs Hayley to let him be a part of the child’s life – however, she refuses outright, threatening to tell Kat everything! It’s most probably an empty threat – but can Alfie afford to risk it?”
Later, Alfie manages to convince Hayley to help him out with his latest business venture – Blue Moon Funerals. Although Hayley is cautious at first, she soon begins to see how much her and Alfie’s baby means to him, and her resolve starts to weaken.
Hayley is gutted that Alfie is only back on the Square for Kat!”
JEAN’S ULTIMATUM!
They’re being keenly watched, however, by eagle-eyed Jean – who observes how much Hayley is obviously smitten with Alfie. She also notes how gutted Hayley is to see that the love cheat stands a chance of getting back with Kat. Feeling protective of both women, and seeing red over how Alfie has disrupted the family since his return, Jean decides to take matters into her own hands…
“Jean gives Alfie an ultimatum!” gasps our snitch. “She informs him that she knows the truth about the baby, and if he doesn’t own up to Kat, she’ll tell her anyway! It’s quite a threat – but will Jean’s intervention end up destroying all of their lives?”
