Christmas in the Dales preview

There’s joy and pain in store for the Dales residents…

-

It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year – but while the Dales does its best to get into the Christmas spirit, for some there’s no escaping the family spats and financial traumas the festive season can also bring. So thank goodness for the promise of a Yuletide wedding for some much-needed Christmas sparkle…

Dingle dong – wedding bells!

The Dingles have endured typically tough times these past 12 months – but could the clan top off a miserable year with a happy-ever-after? The ramshackle family is preparing for a secret wedding – but who is getting wed, and will the day go to plan? “Christmas is a time for family – and

the Dingles need no excuse!” shares our village sneak.

“But instead of gathering around the Christmas dinner table, they’ll be getting together for one of their own to say, ‘I do’. Problem is, one half of the happy couple has no idea they’re about to get hitched – so can their nearest and dearest be trusted to get them to the church on time?” With this secret ceremony in the offing, the pressure is on for the Dingles to get the special day right. But in the chaos that ensues, Sam thinks he’s the lucky fella! Engaged to devoted Lydia, Sam is certain that the hush-hush wedding is his – though could heartbreak be coming his way, instead?

Ugly sisters?

Bernice and Nicola are well known for their sibling rivalry, and as the festive season ramps up, the fiery sisters are in line for a big falling-out. But what prompts their bust-up?

“It would be a Christmas miracle if Nicola or Bernice put their own problems aside and considered someone else for once!” tuts our snitch. “While Bernice is determined to make a go of things with dishy Dr Liam, Nicola is embroiled in her bid to bring down Home Farm. But is one of the selfish girls about to take a step too far to get what they want?”

With Christmas around the corner, one of the sisters must make a big decision – with potentially disastrous consequences! However, is either shameless enough to go through with it?

Holy show

Christmas is a busy time for village vicar Harriet, but she has a particularly pressing mission on her to-do list this year, as she’s keen to track down Ross’ ex-conquest, Dawn. What does Harriet want with the troubled drug addict?

“It’s all very mysterious,” teases our spy. “Harriet keeps her cards close to her chest. While we know she used to be a police officer, her past is a closed book. So is she just looking out for one of her flock by trying to find Dawn – or might it be something from Harriet’s former life that prompts her desperate search?”
