GINA’S GOOD INTENTIONS TO MAKE UP WITH SISTER SALLY GO SERIOUSLY AWRY…

- Tom Spilsbury

Gina tries to make amends with her older sister this week – although Sally is adamant that she wants nothing more to do with her. And while Gina comes up with a way to get back into Sally’s good books, her plan only leads her to become further ostracised…

It dawns on Gina how much Sally hates her, after Sean puts forward the idea of a night out on the town for the Underworld workers. All the factory girls are well up for it – yet Sally is more reticent and only agrees to get involved on the condition that Gina won’t be invited!

“Gina feels stung by this – although it’s not exactly a surprising reaction from Sal, given everything that’s gone on between the two women,” says our Street spy. “Despite the fact that it’s been a month since Sally was released from her wrongful imprisonment, she’s still a very long way from being able to forgive her sister for the part she played – and for the trouble she caused with Tim. Sally might just about be able to cope with standing in a room with Gina, but she’s not willing to socialise with her!”

Nevertheless, as Gina slinks back to her machine, bruised by Sally’s snub, she vows to find a way to get back on side with her sister. Not long after, Gina tells Sophie that she plans to throw a party for Sally, and starts a collection so that they can make it a night to remember. Gina is delighted when Carla makes a generous donation to the fund, and the collection envelope is soon bulging with lots of notes.

Disaster strikes, however, as Gina posts the cash through the letter box at No 13 for Sophie. Before Sophie can pick it up, the package is found by Kevin – and as it isn’t clearly marked,

Sally is still a long way from being able to forgive her sister!”

he assumes it’s money from Sally, who had offered to help pay for Jack’s holiday!

“What a mix-up,” groans our mole. “It’s an innocent mistake, but Kevin and Jack pack their bags and leave! So when Gina realises Sophie never found the envelope, there’s no clue as to where the money has gone. But will anyone believe Gina, given that she was the last person to have the cash?”

Gina and Sophie are forced to break the news to the factory girls that with the money gone, the party is off – and everyone starts to suspect that Gina has swiped the loot for herself.

Can she prove her innocence, when even she doesn’t know where the money is?
