Couch POTATO
Comedian and actor Guz Khan picks his dream viewing…
One of the best
shows that I’ve seen in ages is
Dark on Netflix. The story is so complicated
– it’s a European show and I don’t usually like to watch shows when they’re dubbed, I prefer subtitles. But I was so engrossed in the visuals and the story that I had to switch on the dub – and it was still outstanding!
I think the comedy-drama Atlanta is amazing,
and does something very different. I’m also going back to watching a lot of stand-up. I recently met Dave Chappelle, who’s a comedy hero of mine, and I’ve been watching his specials. He takes the super-silly, but frames it in something very clever to talk about the state of the world.
The greatest movie ever created
is The Goonies. For story, for friendship, for performances, it’s still one of the best movies ever made – it’s just got so much in it.
What I once tried to chill out with,
because I thought I was tough, was
The Haunting Of Hill House. That was the worst mistake of my entire life!
I’m a grown man, I’ve got kids, but watching that show I was hiding under a blanket, having palpitations! It’s beautifully written – but it’s horrible!
If I could be on any other show,
I’d like to go toe-to-toe with Luther. I think I could take Idris Elba on in a mean, gritty story! In terms of him as an actor, and the show, it’s still definitely one that, when I stick it on, has me gripped from start to finish.
