Ruby’s event turns into a disaster

THE PAST HAUNTS HER AT THE WALFORD EAST EVENT...

- Kate White

Ruby is publicly shamed this week, as she launches an event at Walford East that ends in shocking fashion! The brave events manager is hoping to put her rape ordeal behind her and enjoy a successful night at the restaurant, but it doesn’t go to plan at all. As she tries to impress a potential client, Lewis, Ruby’s recent trauma comes back to haunt her.

“Lewis is a Grade A creep and tries to make a move on her!” reveals our Eastenders insider. “Ruby’s horrified – she was just doing business, not touting for it! She orders him to leave, and the whole place grinds to a halt as the guests watch in disbelief. However, Ruby’s woes are far from over, because the night is about to end in more turmoil…”

Even before this incident, the evening hardly gets off to a flying start, and Ruby has trouble from the off. Her first problem comes when she posts a picture of Iqra Ahmed on Walford East’s social media pages, and gets an earful from the furious woman!

“After everything she’s been through, Ruby deserves to be the toast of the Square tonight, but it all comes crashing down,” sighs our snitch.

“Iqra’s tantrum comes out of leftfield, but Ruby holds her composure, before seeking some expert help to get the party started. Trouble is, even the Slaters can’t help Ruby out of this one – she’s about to get a very rude awakening.”

Stacey, the Slaters, and Ruby’s boyfriend Jay are all rooting for her, and are doing whatever they can to support her. However, Jay is worried because, unknown to Ruby, the police have visited her asking to speak with her. Although Jay made up an

excuse to the officers, he’s apprehensive about telling Ruby that the police are looking for her, when she’s already under so much stress.

In fact, Ruby is finding it hard to concentrate on anything except the event – even Jay. While he’s keen to step things up from ‘casual’ to ‘official’ with his stunning new love, when he tries to talk to Ruby, she dismisses him.

However, as her night ends in disaster, Ruby discovers that she might need the help of her closest friends. Especially when the police finally catch up with her…

“It’s going to take some grit for Ruby to get through this,” says our spy. “She’ll also need Jay and Stacey to stand by her, but Ruby struggles to trust people. Jay may even end up being pushed away…”

So, following the events of this week, will Jay find himself still waiting on her?
