A huge Holby and Casualty crossover will see disaster strike – and pit Jac against Connie in a desperate battle to save their colleagues…
Sister shows Casualty and Holby City are to join forces for a two-part crossover special – and you can expect double the action from the blockbuster episodes!
Similar to the instalments that saw a fuel tanker crash into the hospital back in 2004, the wards will come together again, after Holby is hit by catastrophe – with the lives of characters from both shows hanging in the balance…
“We’ve known for some time that there has been major audience appetite for a mega crossover between Holby and Casualty, so that’s exactly what we are serving up!” beams boss Simon Harper, who is the executive producer of both shows. “You’ll see the teams striving heroically against the odds in two episodes of pure, nail-biting, taut, emotional medical drama. There’s so much to relish in the cross-show character interactions: an especially poignant story between two regulars, Connie and Jac, in delicious conflict, and perhaps most vitally, who from
Casualty has been secretly carrying on with whom from Holby?”
The drama will unfold as a major cyber attack plunges the hospital into darkness, and disables essential technology that staff rely on to monitor their patients. Meanwhile, Holby City favourite Sacha will be involved in a car accident with his daughter, Beka, and Ric’s granddaughter Darla – and one of the girls is expecting a baby…
However, it’s Sacha who’ll take a turn for the worse. Jac will insist on operating – just as Casualty supremo and former
Holby City surgeon Connie Beauchamp is called upon to try to save a member of her own team. But with only one theatre available to the clinicians as a result of the power outage, Jac and Connie are faced the heartbreaking decision of which of their friends will take priority when it comes to treatment.
The crossover episodes will air on screen as part of a year’s worth of celebrations for Holby, as the medical drama marks its 20th anniversary. Viewers can watch the first part of the drama start in Casualty’s episode on Saturday 2 March, with the story concluding three days later on Tuesday 5 March on Holby. We can’t wait!
