Comedian Russell Kane picks his dream viewing…
There may be all these subscription channels now, but the BBC just keeps smashing it out of the park. I’d say I lost large portions of my life on Killing Eve, Bodyguard and The Cry – they were all outstanding dramas. Also, I was absolutely glued to the documentary Surviving R. Kelly, which you can get on some subscription services. I cannot recommend it enough.
If I’m not watching dramas or heavy documentaries, I like The Voice UK, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
with Jeremy Clarkson. I’d love to go on there and sit opposite him. Next time there’s a celeb one, I’m going on! And I thought After The Screaming Stops, the Bros documentary, was brilliant.
Recently, I went to the cinema to see Widows, starring Viola Davis, which was absolutely fantastic. The husbands are bank robbers and they all get killed, and just the wives are left. That was a great film.
Growing up, I was a bit of a child of the imagination, so I just tended to watch whatever was on when I got in from school – Phillip Schofield in the Broom Cupboard, that type of thing!
There are a few comedy shows that I would love to go on but I’ve never got around to doing. QI, for one. Yes, I’m common, I grew up on a council estate, but I know a little bit of everything, so I would absolutely love the experience of being on that show. And I think it’d be funny if I popped up on Keeping Up With The Kardashians – maybe I’m with Kim when Kanye walks in and we get into a fight!
