Stuart comes to Mick’s aid…

STUART COMES TO HIS RESCUE WHEN HE COLLAPSES AGAIN…

- Laura-jayne Tyler

Mick tells everyone he’s fine so that he can support Linda – but he’s under intense strain”

There was a time when sadistic Stuart might have happily ended Mick’s life – but this week a shocking turn of events sees him do quite the opposite!

Queen Vic landlord Mick is meant to be taking it easy,

after recently collapsing while refereeing a kids’ football match. However, when he tells a porkie to wife Linda – saying that the doctors have given him the all-clear – it’s obvious that he’s still struggling…

“Typical Mick is soldiering on, even after his health scare,” sighs our Walford insider. “He’s telling everyone that he’s fine so that he can support Linda, who receives a letter from the hospital with her cervical screening results. It’s a big worry given that Linda had cancer a few years ago, so the outcome of this test is a big deal. However, the fact that Mick is covering up really huge issues of his own is putting him under intense strain.”

Meanwhile, Stuart – who has come a long way in cleaning up his act (see right) is desperate to win back

Mick’s friendship. The pair were thick as thieves back in the day, until Stuart rocked up in Walford last year, and revealed that he’d been holding a deeply rooted grudge against Mick following events from their past.

The Carters were the target of a monstrous campaign led by Stuart, who orchestrated his own shooting and framed Mick for the crime. And if it wasn’t for the brave actions of Linda, who pretended to disown jailed Mick so that she could trick Stuart into a confession, her poor husband might still be languishing behind bars.

“Through the friendship that Stuart struck up with

Dot and the loyalty he now feels towards her extended clan, Callum’s brother seems

to have turned over a new leaf,” enthuses our mole. “It would mean the absolute world to him to put things right with Mick, yet how can his old mucker ever forgive him for almost destroying his life? It’s a big ask.”

But, what if Stuart were to save Mick’s life? As Linda’s hubby desperately tries to mask his troubles, Stuart happens to chance upon Mick in the pub’s barrel store. As he appeals for Mick’s forgiveness, the stressed fella refuses to engage – so Stuart leaves.

However, Mick is secretly in peril as he struggles to breathe and then collapses! Thankfully, Stuart hasn’t gone far when he hears Mick’s cries for help, and hurries back to call an ambulance.

Will Mick pull through? And if he does, will Stuart’s role in saving Mick help to convince the Carters that he’s a changed man?
