DOT’S FAMILY REUNION!
Her granddaughter Kirsty is set for a return to Walford…
Dot will have plenty to smile about this autumn when she returns home to Albert Square with her granddaughter Kirsty ‘Dotty’ Cotton in tow!
Best remembered as the demon child of Dot’s son ‘Nasty Nick’, grown-up Dotty will now be played by actress Milly Zero, who takes over the role from previous actress Molly Conlin.
“We’re all super-excited to welcome Dotty back to the Square,” grins
Eastenders’ executive producer, Jon Sen. “Sharp-witted and with an eye for human weakness, she’s not afraid to say what she thinks! We are also thrilled that Milly will be taking on the role. Her versatility as an actress and ability to capture Dotty’s blend of sass, intelligence and vulnerability ensures that Dotty returns with a bang.”
It was over a decade ago that devilish Dotty agreed to help Nick kill Dot, before double-crossing her dad and switching allegiance to her gran.
The pair kept in touch after Dotty left the Square in 2010, with Dot making regular trips to see her in Wales.
The Square stalwart has been absent from our screens since February, when she bid a sad farewell to her dearly departed friend, Doctor Legg, but she’ll be back soon with Dotty, who is to attend university in London.
“I am honestly so excited to be playing Dotty Cotton and joining the E20 family,” says Milly. “Especially playing alongside June Brown [Dot], who
I have been watching on my telly since I was a young girl. She and Dotty have such an interesting relationship to explore with a complicated history, so I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
It all feels very surreal, and
I am buzzing already!”
