Ryan I’ve seen a few things online – people upset that

I’m leaving. It’s not nice [to upset people], is it? We want them to be happy, which is why we do this show.

Danny I’m livid! [ Laughs] My episode count is going down! No, I’ve been there and left the show and had a go at seeing what’s out there. I always felt Ryan would want to do the same at some point. I’m gutted for me, Aaron and the show, but I wish Ryan all the best.

How would you feel if Emmerdale bosses decided to kill Robert off, Ryan?

Ryan That’s the choice of the show. Whether you stay or choose to go, you’re at the mercy of the producers, so you can’t have any illfeeling. It is what it is.

Danny I think it’d be a shame. Robert is a character who has been so popular over the years, and Ryan has come in and done the role justice. But if they did do it, it would be a great storyline for me – just saying!

What do you think is the secret to Robron’s success, Danny?

Danny It’s because they are best friends who are in love, and it gives viewers a great representation of people in the same situation.

Ryan There’s something relatable about it, and that’s why people like it.

How is Aaron going to go on without Robert?

Danny It’s been a while since he’s had heartbreak. Robert is the love of his life – he’s been through so much with him. When you rip that out of somebody’s life, it’s going to be utterly devastating for them!
