Mel escapes with Hunter

SHE’S ON THE RUN WITH HER KILLER SON – BUT BEN’S ON HER TRAIL…

- Sarah Ellis

Mel faces a desperate race against time to get her fugitive son Hunter out of Walford this week – before the police catch up with him!

After receiving word that Hunter had escaped from prison, Mel was stunned to find him waiting for her in her office in a terrible state. Determined to save him from a life behind bars, Mel makes plans for the two of them to flee to Portugal – but with

Ben watching her every move, can Mel smuggle her son out of the country before the police track him down?

“Mel wants nothing more than for her son to be free, although these circumstances are less than ideal,” reckons our Walford spy. “She knows that the police are hunting for him – and they’re not the only ones! Given that Ben is sniffing around as well, getting Hunter out of the area undetected is going to be a tall order.”

With Hunter seriously injured following his daring prison break, Mel knows she needs to get her boy urgent medical attention before they can leave the country. But while she’s racing around Walford trying to prepare for their departure, Ben’s on a mission of his own…

Since Keanu and Louise fled in the wake of Phil’s attack, Ben has been desperately attempting to find the pair.

He’s convinced they’re holed up with Louise’s mum, Lisa, and he realises that Mel will know exactly where to find her!

However, as Ben trails Mel around the Square, demanding information on where Lisa is located, he notices her shifty behaviour – then spots her going into an abandoned basement! With Hunter’s escape now front-page news, it doesn’t take a genius to work out what Mel’s doing in the dingy underground hideout. So when Ben corners her with his suspicions, Mel has no choice but to give

Ben what he wants…

Meanwhile, it’s clear Mel is struggling to cope as she empties the E20 safe of all the takings, ready to escape. As she makes her way back to

her son, Jack spots her looking distressed, and offers her a shoulder to cry on – so will Mel crack and reveal what’s really troubling her?

“Last time Mel turned to Jack for help escaping the police, he double-crossed her!” our mole reminds us. “So it’s unlikely she’ll be making that mistake again! However, with Jack probing to find out what’s wrong with her, can Mel convince him that she’s not seen hide nor hair of her son?”

Whether Mel manages to throw former cop Jack off the scent remains to be seen – but there’s yet more trauma in store for her when the police

arrive with some shocking news! After finding out that the other escaped convicts have been caught, Mel’s more determined than ever to get her son out of the country ASAP. However, when Ben blocks her way once more, could her escape plan be foiled once and for all?

“Ben is proving to be a real thorn in Mel’s side!” gasps our sneak. “And he’s not the only one – Sharon is also suspicious of what is going on. And when Mel herself goes to say a veiled goodbye to Amy, could she be having second thoughts about going on the run with her boy?”
