“Tony’s mind is racing – he’s lost his head…”
Tony becomes convinced that his son Harry has fallen foul of the local serial killer this week – and accuses Sylver of murdering him!
The worried dad has been suspicious ever since Harry went missing, and with no word from the lad in weeks, he’s petrified that something awful has happened to him. Especially since Louis Loveday’s body was recently found floating in the River Dee…
“Tony and Harry were starting to get close again, so the way Harry has just disappeared seems really odd,” explains Nick Pickard, who plays terrified Tony. “The messages he’s been getting from Harry are a big trigger point for him too, because they contain emojis, and Harry doesn’t ever use emojis – so that makes him suspicious. Then Leela mentions that the killer had been sending messages from Louis’ phone, and that’s when Tony starts to think that Harry might have been murdered.”
Prior to this horrifying realisation, Tony has been doing all he can to track down his missing son. So he decides to hold a special barbecue at the Hutch in the hope of bringing Harry home.
“It’s actually Darren who sparks the idea, because he tells Tony that he can’t just
give up on his son,” Nick tells us. “He says to Tony, ‘You’ve got to fight, you’ve got to do everything you can’. Tony’s trying to be positive and drum up some information, so he invites all of Harry’s friends to the barbecue to find out if any of them have seen him.”
Meanwhile, Breda panics that Tony could be getting a little bit too close to the truth, and tries desperately to deter him from looking for his son. But her behaviour raises Tony’s suspicions – and he jumps to the conclusion that she’s trying to protect her killer son, Sylver!
“Tony puts two and two together, and comes up with eight!” chuckles Nick. “The ideas just keep snowballing and he thinks to himself, ‘Well, there’s a convicted killer already living in the village – I bet he’s got to Harry!’
“Sylver’s really upset when he confronts him, though, as him and Tony are friends,” adds the star. “It’s really not very nice to have one of your mates accusing you of
kidnapping and killing their son! But Tony’s mind is racing – he’s lost his head.”
However, when Sadie sends a photo of baby Isaac with the teddy that Breda made him, Tony’s brain starts whirring even more – and he becomes convinced this is the key to discovering the killer’s identity! So is Tony about to uncover the grisly truth? And if so, should Breda book a one-way ticket to Alicante before the police come knocking?
