The Panesar boys are on their way to shake up the Square…

- “Thepanesars will bring chaos to the Square!”

Three new fellas will set the cat among the pigeons when they rock up in Eastenders later this year – and go head-to-head with a Walford family!

“The Panesars are set to arrive this autumn and will bring their own unique blend of charm and chaos to the Square,” explains executive producer, Jon Sen. “A British Asian family of Punjabi Sikh heritage, Kheerat, Jags and Vinny are three very different brothers who turn up in Walford looking to settle a score. However, fate takes a hand and they find themselves staying for good. We’re thrilled to be introducing this vibrant new family and to be sharing their stories.”

The eldest of the three, Kheerat, is a successful businessman. Bosses describe him as determined, persuasive and confident, while living an envious lifestyle idolised by his younger brother, Jags. However, while Kheerat can charm his way to anything, Jags struggles in the shadow of his older brother.

“I’m very proud and excited to be joining such an iconic show, and bringing to life a character that is a reflection of the cultural background that I and many others come from in today’s modern Britain,” says Jaz Deol (Kheerat). “I can’t wait to get started!”

“My younger self would never have believed it,” adds Amar Adatia (Jags). “It’s amazing to be part of one of the most iconic shows alongside some of the best actors in the business.”

Meanwhile, the youngest brother, Vinny, is the golden boy. However, viewers shouldn’t be fooled by Vinny’s innocent exterior – he’s no angel!

“It still hasn’t sunk in that I’m going to be on Eastenders,” says Shiv Jalota (Vinny). “As a boy, I remember the Masood family and thinking there are people like me on TV. To be part of the next generation is a blessing. I’m so excited!”
