So, how are Ryan and Ali getting along at the moment?
Ryan’s formed a bond with Ali, which came from hatred in the early stages. Yet we then saw a sibling dynamic of rivalry but ultimately care – although it can at times feel a little distorted! As sad as it sounds, other than Ryan’s mum, his brother is the only friend he has.
Ali is a doctor, while Ryan’s been drifting a bit. Does that have an effect on him?
It was certainly the seed for all the envy at the start of the relationship. Ryan isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and admitting that is hard for anyone, especially for a man like Ryan. He is coming to terms with the two hardest things for a man to admit to himself: that he’s not smart, and he’s not funny!
It’s certainly not been smart getting involved with Gary…
That was a mixture of naivety and Ryan being oblivious to anything other than himself. Gary and Ryan’s relationship changes and shifts over the coming weeks. Since being verbally attacked by Gary over the lost cash, he certainly becomes more motivated! Part of it is fear, but also knowing these troubles could reach back to his mum!
Do you feel sorry for Ryan?
No, he’s got what was coming to him! We all make choices that have an impact you can’t escape.
He’s a few years younger than me, so there’s a lot to explore, and for me personally, that time was a massive coming-of-age period in my own life.
