Tracy points the finger at Dawn

BUT AS SHE ACCUSES THE WRONG WOMAN, WILL SHE REALISE SHE’S GONE TOO FAR?

- Kate White

Raging Tracy traps Dawn in the church this week – and demands that she admits to being the sweet factory firestarter!

Tracy takes action after hearing a covert conversation between Dawn and her dad Will, and jumps to all the wrong conclusions. Hell-bent on bringing justice to the door of the person who lit the horrifying blaze, Tracy is ready to do what it takes to make Dawn talk. Little does she know that she’s demonising an innocent woman…

“It has reached the stage where the slightest thing will send Tracy over the edge,” explains our Emmerdale insider. “She’s desperate to lay the blame at somebody other than Frank’s door, and poor Dawn just happens to cop for it this time. Dawn’s shady past isn’t likely to help, although Tracy is basing her suspicions on next to nothing, and she has this dead wrong.”

While her sister is losing the plot, Vanessa is oblivious to the unfolding drama as she prepares a special birthday tea at home. She is feeling the distance between them, and desperately wants to get their relationship back on track by marking Tracy’s special day.

However, soon she discovers that celebrating is the very last thing on Tracy’s mind.

Vanessa is appalled when she reaches the church and finds out what’s going on. Begging Tracy to accept the truth about their dad, Vanessa launches a passionate appeal to her sister. Her wise words finally penetrate, and Tracy breaks down as she realises what she’s done to Dawn and to herself.

“What’s truly awful is that Tracy’s instincts are right – Frank is an innocent man,” says our spy. “But Vanessa manages to convince her that he must have caused this tragedy. When she lets those thoughts in, it floors Tracy and she’s consumed by grief and fury. Instead of wanting to get justice for her dad, now she doesn’t want to hear Frank’s name ever again.”

Although she’s been on her own journey of blame for Frank, it saddens Vanessa to hear that Tracy won’t help her scatter their dad’s ashes. No matter what’s happened, she believes they need to lay him to rest and that, if they want to move on, they must accept the truth. Will Tracy find the strength to do that, or is her torment going to get worse?
