Doug is caught smoking a spliff

HE’S CAUGHT RED-HANDED BY POLLARD…

- Laura-jayne Tyler

This is the moment that Doug is forced to hold his hands up to Pollard, and admit that he is the secret smoker who has been puffing on spliffs in the village!

The truth is revealed after Eric catches Doug in the act, and so has to decide what to do next with his mortified friend. Will he report Doug and send shock waves throughout the local community?

“Really, Doug should have fessed up long ago – but instead he has stood by and let an innocent bystander take the blame for his own cannabis

use,” sighs our Emmerdale insider. “Doug has enough people in his life who love him and would have provided support, or perhaps could have offered alternative solutions to his predicament. But after letting the saga drag on for so long, he’s made the situation 100 times worse.”

Doug’s drugs drama is hardly the Dales’ answer to

Breaking Bad, but his solution to easing his terrible back pain has caused quite a stir among the locals. Charity has been up in arms – fearful that she’ll lose her temporary bar license at the village hall – and even accused recovering drug addict Dawn of smoking a joint during a fierce campaign to catch the culprit. Not even that miscarriage of justice could prompt Doug to pipe up!

However, the pressure mounts for him even more this week, as Charity persists Doug should have fessed up long ago – he’s made the situation 100 times worse!” with her mission to rid the village of weed. However, Doug can’t resist yet another cheeky smoke – causing Pollard to get a whiff of what’s been really going on, and he catches Doug red-handed!

As Doug attempts to explain himself, Pollard has a stark

choice – shop his pal to the village’s selfappointed anti-drugs disciple, Charity, or figure out a way to deal with the issue so that Doug isn’t put on trial. What will Eric do?
