Paul & Terese meet Prudence
DENISE VAN OUTEN JOINS THE CAST OF NEIGHBOURS FOR SOME SPECIAL SCENES FILMED IN THE UK…
Paul and Terese head to London for their honeymoon this week – where they have a rather strange encounter with Harlow’s mother, Prudence!
Their meeting marks the first appearance of British star Denise Van Outen, who’s recently flown out to Melbourne in order to film her next episodes of the soap. And Denise tells us that appearing in the show has been a dream come true…
“It’s a career highlight, because I’ve watched Neighbours on and off for years,” she gushes. “It’s such an iconic show. Over the years I’ve met some of the cast through presenting, but never in a million years did I imagine that I would
end up being a part of Neighbours here in Australia.
“I’m doubly thrilled because Jason [Donovan, who played Scott Robinson] is a friend, and I get to work with his daughter Jemma [who plays Denise’s onscreen daughter Harlow], which is just lovely.”
Since
Harlow first arrived in Erinsborough and dropped the bombshell that she was Paul’s secret granddaughter, we’ve got to know the teenager a bit better – but she’s not said much about her mum, who she left behind in London. So while Paul and Terese are in the UK, they decide to seek her out…
Their meeting with Prue leaves the pair somewhat baffled, as she deflects all of their questions about her life, before cutting short their picnic and rushing off. Meanwhile, Down Under, Harlow reveals the shocking truth to her auntie Amy – her mum is part of a cult!
It’s clear that Prue has led a rather interesting life, and Denise insists that she’s having a ball playing her.
“Prue is a lot of fun,” she grins. “I like the fact that she is little bit out there as well, so I can play around with the character. She is definitely going to stir things up, and she’s a bit mischievous, which is very interesting to play.”
However, as Prue meets with a mysterious man from the cult – played by television presenter Richard Arnold – he informs her that the time has come to cut all contact with her daughter! So could there be serious heartbreak on the cards for poor Harlow?
