Charity humiliates Sarah
CAN SHE CONTAIN THE ROGUE TEEN?
Naughty Sarah bunks off doing her schoolwork to hang out with a boy this week – and ends up getting a very public dressing-down from her gran Charity.
With Charity having agreed to look after Sarah during the week while Debbie starts a new life in Scotland, she worries about keeping the teen safe and well. So, when she learns that Sarah has got herself into trouble while trying to show off to new pal Danny, stressedout Charity hits back.
“Sarah is being naughty, but Charity totally overreacts,” reveals our Emmerdale insider. “She’s finding it really hard to get the right balance between being Sarah’s guardian and her fun granny, especially given Sarah’s health issues. There are going to be clashes.”
It’s Vanessa who discovers Sarah and Danny larking about instead of burying their heads in books. She’s forced to tell Charity what’s going on, because Sarah could have got herself into trouble. But when Charity finds her and gives her a rollicking, Sarah is mortified as it’s in front of Danny. She’s spent so long attempting to get people to think of her as a normal girl, instead of just seeing her illness, Sarah is distraught that Charity may have ruined that.
It kicks off a conversation between the relatives which goes somewhere that leaves Charity dumbfounded…
“Let’s just say that Sarah’s perspective isn’t something Charity was expecting, and she’s stunned by it,” says our spy. “Given how unshockable Charity is, that’s quite an achievement. It brings into sharp focus why Charity is finding this new dynamic between them so difficult.”
Worse still, Charity has chicken pox, and is having no fun at all trying to cope with that on top of all the household stress. Determined to put things right, Vanessa steps up to wave a magic wand for Sarah, by creating a surprise for her and Danny. It’s intended to help them get back to the fun they were having the other day, and erase the memory of Charity’s big blow-up. But as the friends discover what Vanessa has planned, how will they react?
