DEV REALISES HIS DAUGHTER IS PUTTING HERSELF AT RISK…
Dev finds out the horrifying truth about his daughter Asha this week, after another jar of skinlightening cream is delivered to their door!
Given young Asha’s strange behaviour of late, it’s no wonder that suspicious dad Dev feels the need to go through his daughter’s post. And when he rips open the parcel and sees what’s inside, he’s utterly devastated that his little girl has resorted to such dangerous methods to change her appearance…
“It’s normal for teenagers to experience mood swings, but Dev had no idea what was going on right under his nose!” gasps our Corrie insider. “He’s aware of how much damage such potions can cause – and after he makes Asha roll up her sleeves, Dev is stunned to see just how red raw her skin is as a result of using the cream.”
Asha has been struggling with her self-esteem ever since she returned from her trip to India. She’s obviously not happy with the way she looks, and has been applying the corrosive lotion to make her skin appear lighter.
This week, Asha begs her dad for extra pocket money, secretly hoping to order some more cream online. But Dev reckons it’s about time his daughter earned her keep, and drags her to the kebab shop – informing her that she’ll be working there from now on!
Asha’s day starts to look up, though, when Amy calls in to see her with Riley, a fit lad from school. While Asha doesn’t want him to see her working in a greasy kebab shop, she’s over the moon when he asks her to meet him at after schoolplay rehearsals that afternoon! But the prospect of a hot date just makes Asha eager to apply more cream to her skin…

the most embarrassing thing a dad can possibly do – as he and Mary sit down with Asha and subject her to a humiliating talk about the birds and the bees. Poor Asha is desperate to get away from the cringe-worthy pair as soon as she can, and who can blame her!
As Asha’s date gets under way, things seem to be going well – until Riley brushes her arm, and her skin starts bleeding. Asha rushes off, but things only get worse when one of the mean girls from school later accuses her of stealing her boyfriend – then calls her ugly!
And just when Asha is at her lowest ebb, her dad discovers her horrifying secret…
“By this point, Mary has realised that Asha stole Dev’s credit card, and demands to know what’s going on,” shares our spy. “Asha lies that she wanted to buy some make-up, but Mary sees straight through the fib. And after Dev intersects his daughter’s post, the truth about what she’s been doing to herself becomes clear.”
As Dev attempts to make his daughter see sense, angry Asha packs her things and leaves the house! Can anyone get through to her before it’s too late?
