Evelyn has a beady eye on Jade
SHE RECKONS NEWCOMER JADE IS SHADY…
Cobbles battleaxe Evelyn has a new nemesis this week – after she becomes suspicious of Hope’s live-in tutor, Jade!
The youngster’s former teaching assistant arrived on the Street last week, following Fiz’s pleas for her to move in. Jade had previously been helping to keep young Hope on the straight and narrow during the child’s time at a specialist school in Birmingham – but while frazzled Fiz is delighted to have some help with her wayward daughter, Evelyn isn’t quite so sure about Jade’s credentials…
“Evelyn just can’t fathom why this woman would drop everything, and move to Weatherfield on a whim,” exclaims our Corrie insider.
“It all seems a little bit suspect to her! She reckons Jade is hiding something, and is determined to figure out what it is. So, after Fiz and Tyrone have gone to work, Evelyn sneaks back into the house to see just what she can uncover.”
As luck would have it, Evelyn walks in and catches Jade in a very compromising position! The newcomer is rummaging through some drawers in the house, and Evelyn is convinced she’s up to no good. So, she confronts Jade, and demands to know just what she’s doing…
However, what Evelyn isn’t expecting is for Jade to have a perfectly reasonable explanation. The pensioner is lost for words as
Jade spills the beans on her abusive ex-husband, and how Fiz helped her to get away from him. She reveals that she was merely searching for a nice family photograph that she could get framed for Fiz as a thank-you present – but is Jade telling the truth?
“It seems as if Evelyn believes Jade’s story – for now, at least,” confirms our sneak. “When Fiz returns home, she’s stunned to find the pair of them sharing a heart-to-heart. It’s certainly a first for Evelyn!”
Yet was Tyrone’s nan right to go with her first instinct? Might there be more to Jade than meets the eye?
