Debbie’s back with news for Kevin

HIS SISTER DEBBIE ARRIVES WITH SOME BIG MONEY NEWS…

- Kate White

Kevin Webster’s fortunes change overnight this week – when his sister Debbie makes a surprise return to Weatherfield.

Although she hasn’t set foot on the cobbles since 1985, Debbie makes the trip to let Kevin know that she’s come into some money. It turns out that their Auntie Vi – whom Kevin didn’t much like – has died and left Debbie a small fortune. Now she wants to share the cash with Kev!

“This is pretty life-changing news for Kevin – Debbie wants to give him £200,000,” says our Coronation Street insider. “The only reason Auntie Vi didn’t leave anything to Kev is that they didn’t keep in touch, but Debbie wants to right that wrong. As far as she sees it, Kevin and his family could do with the money – and she’s prepared to give it to them.”

Of course, Kevin is a proud man and his initial response is to say that he’s not a charity, and doesn’t feel right about taking the money. But the truth is – especially given his son Jack’s disability – Kevin could use the cash. Debbie knows this and that’s precisely why she wants to help him, not least as she herself has lots of money thanks to an extensive property portfolio. She implores Kevin to reconsider, and let her do something good for him and his family.

“Even Kev isn’t crazy enough to turn down Debbie twice,” explains our source. “He finally accepts and tells her that he intends to split the money four ways – giving Jack, Sophie and Rosie their share of the cash. It looks as if Debbie’s trip was worth it, after all!”

Will Debbie decide to stick around to see what the Webster family chooses to do with their windfall – or will she leave the cobbles pleased that her has plan worked?
