Kevin lands himself a hot date

He has recently come into money, but there’s another exciting development in store for Kevin this week, when he finds himself out on a date!
After Abi discovers that her manager has recently come into 50 grand – courtesy of his late Auntie Vi – she makes plans to meet Kev for lunch. But as expectant Kevin awaits Abi’s arrival at the Bistro, he’s in for a big surprise…
“A very glamorous woman approaches Kev’s table, and he’s thrown!” reveals our Street spy. “But then she proceeds to introduce herself as Martine – the old school friend who got in touch with him out of the blue a few weeks previously. They arranged to meet up, yet Kevin was gutted when she failed to show. So she’s the last person he’s expecting to see after all this time.”
Apologising for standing him up and explaining it was Abi who managed to track her down, Martine proceeds to install herself opposite Kevin, clearly keen to get their date going. But has Abi done Kevin a favour in organising a rematch for the long-lost pals – or has he already moved on?

In a week where Kevin is also forced to bid his youngest daughter Sophie farewell, as she heads off on a round-theworld trip (see p31), it could be perfect timing for Martine’s arrival – a new romance being an ideal distraction as he comes to terms with Sophie’s departure. But as the reunited pair catch up, Kevin has a disappointing discovery in store.
