Jessica Fox and Ashley Taylor Dawson on Nancy and Darren’s ordeal…

Hi guys! How do Darren and Nancy cope down in the tunnels? It’s pretty frightening!

Jess Well, Nancy’s way of dealing with anything like that is to become really annoying! So they bicker like old times – their old-married-couple roles fall back into place, and they blame each other. They’re bringing up things that happened years ago – I wouldn’t be surprised if she started going, “Well, you didn’t get the washing out of the machine, so it’s all your fault that we’re down here!”

Ashley It’s typical Nancy and Darren, spatting with each other. Hopefully it works, and there are some charming scenes in a weird way, with a lot of comedy thrown in. I don’t think it was written for comedy – that’s just the way Jess and I took it!

Was it good to be working together again?

Jess It’s the first stuff with just the two of us since Darren and Nancy split, which was all incredibly intense. So it was a bit like coming home, because it’s easy! We get on so well, and we have a weird shorthand when we work together.

Ashley There’s so much history between them we can use, that it’s always great when we do stuff.

What was it like filming the tunnel scenes?

Jess I enjoy anything that involves special effects, dirt, dust and being a bit out of the norm. It was an amazing set, it looked a bit like Raiders Of The

Lost Ark! Although for days afterwards, I was digging dirt out of my fingernails!

Ashley It was fun, because they had these explosive cannons that cover you in dirt. You’re in thick dust all day – not to moan, as it looks amazing. But next year, I want to be dangled off a cliff. I’d love that!
