Gary plays dirty to win Maria
HOW FAR WILL HE GO TO KEEP MARIA FOR HIMSELF?
Ali better watch out – crossing Gary could be a big mistake…”
Wicked Gary Windass plays dirty in order to win Maria this week, by digging for dirt on her former love, Ali.
Following Emma’s recent collapse due to Dr Ali’s negligence, the distraught medic is in a desperate state, fearing for his career. He turns to Maria for support, admitting that he regrets ending their relationship. This touching scene is witnessed by Adam, who wastes no time telling his enemy Gary that his new squeeze is busy comforting her ex-boyfriend.
“Ali better watch out –
Gary has proved that he’s willing to go to great lengths to get what he wants,” warns our Corrie insider. “Ali may have made a blunder with Maria, but crossing Gary is a far bigger mistake.”
Although Maria seems content to stick with Gary, despite Ali’s revelation that he split from her under duress, the rogue loan shark isn’t taking any chances. He’s certain that there’s dirt to dig up on Ali, and hires a private detective to carry out some snooping. It doesn’t take long for the investigator to learn that Ali has been missing shifts, behaving strangely, and that one of the pharmacists at Ali’s hospital has been arrested for stealing and selling drugs. When Gary adds that to the information that Dr Gaddas reported
Ali for negligence herself, before Steve put in his own complaint, he likes the picture it’s painting.
Gary’s next move is to prove it, though – and so he and PI Lenny apprehend ‘Big Farmer’, the pharmacist under prosecution, and grill him…
“It’s terrifying for this guy to be kidnapped, tied up and gagged,” explains our source. “Gary is getting very good at being a menacing and violent individual. He wants to know everything
Big Farmer has on Ali. It would really come as no surprise if Big Farmer crumbled and gave Gary everything he wants.”
While Gary is digging into Ali’s life, Ryan issues a warning to his brother to take his new nemesis seriously. Intrigued by what Ryan says, Ali goes to the furniture shop and steals Gary’s ledger. Inside, he finds evidence that the shop is just a front for Gary’s loan-shark enterprise, and goes over to tell Maria. But when he gets there, it’s Gary, not Maria, who is waiting in the salon flat.
As Ali tells Gary what he’s found, and threatens to tell Maria what he’s up to, will Gary allow his rival to get the upper hand – or fight back?
