Roy’s good intentions get him in hot water this week, when his actions cause chaos for his niece Nina.

Having finally met his half-brother Richard, Roy’s doing his best to support his terminally ill sibling, and to lighten the load on young Nina. The issue is that Nina doesn’t want to know Roy, let alone allow him to take charge where her beloved dad is concerned. Recognising that all he can do is offer practical help, he asks Nina if she’d like a hand moving a heavy air condenser in the house. However, when she hurts herself, it’s evident that Nina needs help whether she wants it or not…

“Here’s a young girl carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders,” says our spy. “Roy doesn’t want her to spend these formative years as a carer when she could be out there making a life for herself. So he requests that social services reassess Richard’s case.”

However, it’s when Richard’s carer is late and Roy berates them – leading them to quit – that uncle-niece relations hit

rock bottom. Once Nina finds out, she declares that Roy should just leave them alone!

But determined Roy remains adamant that he can make a difference, and returns with news that Aggie is taking on more shifts at the café – and he’ll be handling carer duties for Richard. While it’s clear Nina needs his help, can Roy get her to accept it?
