Lovebirds Bernice and Liam prepare to tie the knot this week – but the whole wedding is thrown into disarray after Bernice receives a phone call that leaves her shaken to the very core!
It’s while Bernice and her doctor fiancé are both enjoying their last nights of freedom that her daughter Dee Dee answers a call to her mum’s phone, and relays a message that could have huge ramifications for the happy couple…
“It’s a pretty earth-shattering, seismic announcement,” declares Jonny Mcpherson, who plays groom Liam.
“Bernice gets the message, and the news is sufficiently punchy that she decides there’s no other course of action but to run to the Woolpack, and drag Liam out in his high heels!”
Prior to the life-changing bombshell, romantic Liam has pulled out all the stops to make sure his and Bernice’s big day is the best of their lives. He’s flown in Dee Dee from Australia for the wedding, and even has a grand present to give to his bride on the eve of their big day.
“Liam was massively excited to provide Bernice with a huge, exciting surprise before the wedding,” grins Jonny, referring to Dee Dee’s unexpected arrival. “Then, he helps organise for Dee Dee to hang around in Emmerdale for as long as possible. He also has a lovely piece of jewellery passed on from his late grandmother, and he decides that he wants Bernice to have it. She’s very touched – they know each other so well.”
There’s no denying how well-suited Liam and Bernice are. However, as their hen and stag dos get into swing the night before their big day, their worlds are about to be turned upside down by the shock news that’s coming their way…
“Liam’s dressed in the most ridiculous outfit I’ve ever worn in my life!” chuckles Jonny. “He’s a sexy nurse, and I was wearing size 12 heels! But I must say, I do have a new appreciation of ladies wearing
heels now. I had no idea how difficult it was.”
There’s every chance the good doc may topple right off those heels when he hears what Bernice has to tell him! So will her shocking revelation put a stop to the wedding altogether? Or might they still be able to say “I do” in the wake of everything that’s happened?
