Louise & Keanu’s baby gets sick
…BUT IS THERE A CRUEL TWIST ON THE WAY?
There are huge celebrations for the Mitchell and Taylor clans this week, as Keanu and Louise proudly present their baby daughter. However, their broad smiles soon turn to concerned frowns when the little tot stops breathing!
There was panic in the Square last week, after Louise’s waters broke, and she went into labour several weeks early. Thankfully, once Louise had been rushed into hospital, her precious baby daughter was delivered safely. And soon, Karen, Bernie and Keegan arrive on the maternity ward, to congratulate the proud parents and to meet the new member of their family.
“Karen has been looking forward to becoming a nana again more than anything, so she’s thrilled to finally meet her adored Keanu’s child,” beams our Walford insider. “Before long, they’re all joined in the hospital by the baby’s other grandma, Lisa. Even though she’s still grieving for her best friend Mel, Lisa can’t help but be moved by seeing her beautiful granddaughter. And when Keanu and Louise tell their assembled relatives that they’ve decided to name their baby girl Peggy – after her much-missed great grandma – everyone’s cooing in approval!”
Fortune takes a bitter turn just a few hours later, however.
After everyone else has gone, Lisa returns to the ward in order to speak to Louise, but is anguished to realise that the baby isn’t breathing! As the alarm is raised, and doctors and nurses rush in, can they do anything to help? And even if they do manage to resuscitate the newborn, might the child have an even more serious condition?

Fortunately, Peggy’s condition stabilises soon afterwards, much to everyone’s relief – and Keanu takes his anxious fiancée to the intensive care unit to visit their tiny treasure. But given that Christmas is just around the corner, and there are sure to be fireworks in the Mitchell household, should they try to enjoy this brief moment of calm while they can?
