Couch POTATO

Actor Sian Reese-williams picks her dream viewing…

-

Succession is hands-down the best drama I’ve seen in years.

I’ve not got around to watching the second series yet, because I’ve been working on a play that has been taking every inch of my brain power, but it’s very funny and so real. These people are horrible, and yet they’re compelling to watch.

Mum is one of my favourite shows that’s ever been made

– it’s just genius. Every single person in it is hilarious and heartbreakingly brilliant. If you read the script, you’d think it was just about making somebody a cup of tea, but the acting and the subtext behind it is fantastic – I’ve rewatched it many, many times!

My best-loved film is probably Amadeus

– I love it because it’s epic. And Ferris

Bueller’s Day Off is another favourite of mine. I’d say that one is the movie that I’ve watched the most in my life; it always makes me feel as if I’m 10 again – which is a really good thing when you’ve had a bad day! I really love Rupaul’s Drag Race. It’s incredible and funny and filthy and hilarious, and they are all absolutely brilliant artists. I can’t pretend I didn’t love Love Island, either, because it’s so easy to watch – anything like that is a bit of a guilty pleasure!

Growing up, I’d watch John Waters films that I probably shouldn’t have seen,

because my sister – who is nine years older than me – was watching them: things like Cry-baby and Hairspray.

I also loved The House Of Eliott – I was like, “I want to be in that. I want to be posh and from the 1920s!”
