Holby City Lofty breaks Dom’s heart

HE BIDS GOODBYE TO HIS HUSBAND – AND THE HOSPITAL…

-

Dom and Lofty get ready to renew their wedding vows in a gorgeous fairy-tale ceremony this week – one year on from when they originally tied the knot.

However, their special day unravels at a shocking pace, as the pair realise that they’re on different paths – prompting Lofty to make a devastating decision about the future of their marriage…

“Dom and Lofty have both been through so much in the space of a year and, as much as they love each other, it’s just not going to work,” sighs our

Holby insider. “The problem is, though, Lofty comes to the conclusion a lot quicker than Dom – just as they’re about to exchange their vows again!”

The episode gets off to a dramatic start when Lofty’s old friend from the ED, Max Walker, arrives at the hospital for his mate’s special day – only for Lofty to run him over with his bike! Meanwhile, Lofty himself is knocked for six in jaw-dropping scenes, when he finds out that Dom has been researching adoption.

“Lofty is still heartbroken after losing his baby with Helen, and declares that he never wants to experience that sort of pain again,” explains our source. “Dom is totally gutted, of course, but he just wants Lofty to be happy. He’s prepared to give up his dreams of being a father if it means they can be together.”

However, as it becomes clear that Dom and Lofty aren’t being honest with each other, Dom’s adoptive mother Carole tells Lofty a few home truths. And when he later has a chance to catch up with Max – as well as his good friend Robyn from the ED – Lofty realises that he has a huge choice to make.

The trouble is, Lofty chooses what should be one of the most romantic moments of Dom’s life to finally be truthful with his husband – and breaks the news that he wants them to split up just after they’ve walked down the aisle!

As much as Dom and Lofty love one another, it’s just not going to work between them”
